Rotor Gallery and Göteborg Natural History Museum proudly present artworks from Valand’s Nature on Display summer course at the Natural History Museum.
The Nature on Display exhibition is the result of a collaborative project between Valand School of Fine Art the Department of Conservation, investigating how we recreate and represent the natural world. Artists worked with conservator Göran Sjöberg at the Ajtte Sami Museum in Jokkmokk, Sweden, learning museum techniques for reconstructing natural specimens and environments. Incorporating sound, video, and photography, the artists have constructed various displays around the concept of nature.
Consultants for the project are Göran Sjöberg, Sophy Naess, Peter Öjstersek, Åsa Holmberg, Jill Lindström, Bryndis Snaebjornsdottir, Terence Gower.
The exhibition is curated by Clare Butcher.

Rotor Gallery started as a Valand student initiative in the late 1980′s and when Valand moved to Vasagatan 50 the gallery opened in its new locale within the school and exhibits both local and international artists.
Göteborg Natural History Museum was founded in 1833 and moved to its present location in Slottskogen in 1923. The museum is renowned for its geological and zoological collections which total nearly 10 million animals and more than 100 000 objects.
Göteborg Natural History Museum is located near Linnéplatsen in Slottsskogen.
