BORG is me
BORG is a young and an old desire. BORG kindles physical sentiments, emotions, thoughts and intuitions in our brains. In this time-space continuum BORG is not directly visible; it is only perceptible for those individuals who can realize BORG within themselves. The BORG enrichment is not beneficial for anyone. The geographical location of BORG is 21°W and 64°N, in the Northwest of Reykjavik, Iceland. In Icelandic »borg« means town. Skallagrimur Kveldulfsson called his farm »Borg«, when he settled there in 900 A.D. Thus, the location I chose for BORG has a concrete geographical, historical and cultural environment. Nevertheless, BORG can take place everywhere. To define a place for BORG is a gesture – a visible form.
BORG Brain - Garden the Sleeping-Heights
SLEEP IS SO VERY IMPORTANT IN THE SOCIETY THAT MOST OF
THE TIME SLEEP IS NOT CONSCIOUSLY TAKEN INTO CONSIDERA-
TION AND THERE IS A BIG TENDENCY TO IGNORE THE VALUE OF
IT. WITHOUT SLEEP THERE WOULD BE NO ECONOMY AND NO
CIVILIZATION. EVERYONE, IN EVERY CULTURE, NEEDS TO SLEEP.
SLEEP IS ESSENTIAL TO EVERYBODY. SLEEP IS THE MOST ANARCHIC STATE OF OUR LIFE. WHILE WE SLEEP WE ARE OFF, FOR
THE SOCIETY, WE TAKE OFF TO OUR PRIVATE TRIP ALONE INTO
OURSELF, FAR AWAY FROM THE SOCIETY AND THE DEMANDS OF
THE SOCIETY. THROUGH SLEEP A PERSON DEALS WITH THE INPUT
OF THE PAST, IN A WAY WE DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT. WHAT
WE DO KNOW HOWEVER, IS THAT SLEEP IS ESSENTIAL IN ORDER
THAT WE CAN BE ABLE TO MANAGE THE LIFE AHEAD. SLEEPING
AND THE VALUE OF SLEEPING IS CENTRAL FOR THE ECONOMY
OF BORG. THE CITICENS IN BORG HAVE 9 HOURS, PER TWENTY
FOUR HOURS, FOR SLEEP. SLEEP IS PLANNED BOTH AT HOME, AT
WORK AND IN SCHOOL. MORE SLEEPING TIME IN BORG WILL CUT
DOWN THE ACTIVE TIME OF WASTING THE NATURAL RESOURCES
AND SLOW DOWN THE MATERIAL PRODUCTION IN THE SOCIETY. AS SOCIETY SPENDS MORE TIME SLEEPING, SOCIETY WILL
BECOME MORE PROSPEROUS. WITH MORE SLEEP WE INCREASE
THE RESOURCES OF PERSONAL LIFES AND ALSO INCREASE THE ATTENTION PEOPLE HAVE AT SCHOOL AND AT WORK. LACK OF
SLEEP IS EXHAUSTING, IT REALLY IS A RESOURCE EXHAUSTION.
THIS EXHAUSTION WILL BE REPLACED BY THE ENERGY GAINED
THROUGH MORE SLEEP. THIS CULTURE OF SLEEPING WILL GIVE
THE INDIVIDUAL THE CHANCE TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THEIR
STATE OF SLEEPING AND TO THE IMMATERIAL PRODUCTION OF
SLEEP. PEOPLE WILL GET A GREATER CHANCE TO RECOGNIZE
THE THINKING WHILE SLEEPING. THE ATTRACTIVE IDEAS GOTTEN
ASLEEP WILL THEN BE THE TASK AT WORK AND AT SCHOOL IN THE DAYTIME. BORG WILL BE NOURISHED BY THESE IDEAS NURTURED IN SLEEP.
