Future Days 2013
The amusing and melancholic film Future Days combines elements of animation with images shot on the Swedish island of Gotland. Agnieszka Polska created a fictitious ”afterworld for artists” where artists from different generations meet after death. They include key figures from the twentieth-century art world and a number of forgotten Polish artists and theoreticians. The actors wear masks in the likeness of their characters. Their dialogues are based on quotes by the artists they play. In their discussions they comment on artworks and in an ironc way expose the limitations of human knowledge.
